The Volusia County Council will conduct a workshop on water quality with specific attention to the St. Johns and Halifax / Indian River systems, including related tributaries and springsheds. The workshop will examine current water quality conditions and the impacts of stormwater, wastewater, septic system discharges, and fertilizer runoff.
The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Ocean Center, rooms 202 ABC, 101 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.
All Volusia County cities, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the St. Johns River Water Management District have been invited to attend and participate in the discussions to ensure an informed and coordinated effort to protect water resources.
